Three and a half hours later and I'm still parched. Since the oven roasted rat incident I've drank 96 ounces of water and working on more. I feel like Troi in the ST:TNG episode Genesis. Like Troi, I think I'm turning into a frog. If Worf tries to bite me I'll blog it.
For lunch today I tried KFC's new Oven Roasted Strips. Let me first start off that I went over to KFC specifically to try these things. Of course, I researched the nutritional infomation first. 420 calories and 7 grams of fat, not bad. So I took a walk over there and ordered it. While I was waiting for the food I noticed a Oven Roasted Strips banner. It said contains 100% RDA requirement of sodium. What?!?!? It was at this point that I should of walked out.
When I got back to the office I opened the container and it looked like someone stepped on my strips. I grabbed a fork and took a bite. It tasted like oven roasted rat. I ate about half of it before I realized that the rat has a horrible, horrible aftertaste. I finished off my rice and then promptly tossed it.
That was two hours ago. My body is now in sodium shock. I have drank 48 ounces of water since then and want more. Hey colonel, pack it in and shut it down cause you're never getting a dime of mine again.
Last year Steve Taylor played at Cornerstone 2003. While at the festival he held a press conference where he was very candid about Squint and his other projects. The transcript of the press conference can be seen at The Phantom Toolbooth.
On a side note, I've been ripping my Steve Taylor CD's to mp3 recently. It's great to hear his stuff again. Steve's music changed Christian music forever. It's because of him we've got radio stations like Call FM. So thanks Steve and come out with a new album already!
Yesterday kicked off Call FM's summer fund drive. For those of you who don't know. Call FM is a listener-supported radio station dedicated to delivering the message of Christ to the youth of South Florida. Last night I was supporting the fund drive on the air with DJ MSG. Although I wasn't at the top of my game, I had a blast. I'll be on again Wednesday night so listen to it at 91.7 in South Miami-Dade/Keys or online! And don't forget to pledge!
It's been two weeks since I stopped eating everything I wanted. I have moved to a low fat, low calorie diet. Pretty much like the one I had at UM. On top of that I've been working out three to four times a week including my plyometric workout. Speaking of plyometrics, I did my second workout on Saturday and am feeling fine (i.e. no leg pain). I definitely feel better and hope to gain more muscle soon. Coming up tonight: upper body workout.
For those of you who don't know, you can create a test certificates on your development machine with Visual Studio! This is done through the makecert.exe program. Grant Killian has an excelent post on its functionality. He also points to another page on how to create a test certificate with makecert.exe. Just in case you're wondering you can use this command line:
makecert -r -pe -n "CN=www.yourserver.com" -b 01/01/2000 -e 01/01/2036 -eku 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1 -ss my -sr localMachine -sky exchange -sp "Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider" -sy 12
Update! - Be sure to download the new version of makecert.exe!
Last night I started back on my plyometric routine. Twenty step-ups and twenty lunges. It doesn't sound like much but I'm sore. I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow. The first week is always the toughest. Now, if I didn't stop in the first place...

We have made our decision. For our anniversary Lucy and I will spend the weekend at the Agustin Inn in St. Augustine, Florida. We are really, really, really looking forward towards some R&R.
Recently, we've seen the ASP.Net SQL Server session state acting poorly. It seems that the clean up job was taking an abnormal amount of time. We have decided to move our session database from tempdb to its own database. Microsoft has made a KB available detailing how to persist the session database (Q311209 HOW TO: Configure ASP.NET for Persistent SQL Server Session State Management). Some more resources on ASP.Net session state are: Using SQL server for ASP.Net session state and Peter Bromberg's Session State FAQ.
Last night, I played basketball for the first time in about a year and a half. And boy am I rusty. Towards the end of the night I started to get my shot down but I had dead-legs all night. So I'm going to back on my plyometric routine. Essentially, plyometrics trains the muscles for explosiveness. I think I'm going to re-start the regiment on Sunday. This way it gives me time to work on the treadmill for the rest of the week. Let's hope I stay on the regiment this time.
Recently I've been dabbling in .Net performance tuning. So here is some links. Here's one on ASP.Net Performance Tuning/Analysis. Here's another from MS titled Improving .Net Application Performance and Scalability. Sam Gentile call it "the single best guide I have seen out of Redmond."
Carl Franklin of .Net Rocks! fame asks the community "what is the best Tablet PC?" And the community answers. It seems that the Toshiba m200 is the tablet of choice. Lucy has already promised me one for Christmas. We'll see if that happens.
