This Sunday was the first time in nine months that I've bowled. Of course I didn't just open bowl, I entered in to the Dade County All Stars monthly tournament. This month was a match play singles tournament at Homestead. After my first few practice shots I wasn't too sure how I'd fare. My elbow was killing me and I had almost no power in my swing. Add all of that and I faced my Dad in the first match. It ended up that my fears were unfounded. I beat my Dad and shot 236. The rest of qualifying went just as well 267, 242, 225, 203, 215. At the end of qualifying, I was in first but in trouble. I had torn my fingers in three places and my back and elbow were in a lot of pain. In the stepladder playoffs I faced a buddy of mine from juniors, Patrick Murphy. Needless to say it wasn't close I shot 156 with three straight splits on one lane all coming off strikes. I finished eighth and second in the optional scratch singles. Not too shabby. I wish I had more in the tank for the playoff but it is was it was.
Here are the results.
I’m officially psyched for the rest of the day. The Movie Blog linked to the official Spider-Man movie site which revealed that Spidey will be wearing a black costume in Spider-man 3! Ah, the memories of my youth reading Spider-Man comics with the black costume. What was creepier than those white eyes and spider logo peering out of the darkness? Or better yet, crawling out of his own grave? It’s a hell of a lot better than that Iron Spider costume that Marvel revealed earlier this month. Eeek. Yes, this poster will be in one of our lightboxes sometime this year. Via The Movie Blog.
Update: This just keeps getting better and better. A pic of Venom has been posted on Aint It Cool News. Via digg.

While checking the logs at work I found this curious error “Invalid_Viewstate_Client_Disconnected”. After some research (i.e. Google) I found this knowledge base article Intermittent Invalid Viewstate Error in ASP.NET Web pages. Unfortunately, the KB didn’t help much since we were doing all of the recommended steps. I did find this post which defined the problem as the user canceling the postback while the viewstate was being sent to the server. This issue tends to occur when the viewstate becomes very large. I found another post that pointed the blame at a proxy server truncating the viewstate if it was over 2K. Both posts suggested having a smaller viewstate or ignoring the error. Our users haven’t complained about the error and we haven’t been able to reproduce it so I’m ignoring it for now. But if this becomes a problem I’ll post our solution here.
Brrreeeport! Brrreeeport! Brrreeeport! There, am I now in??
